How It Works
Dovient reads production data from your Manufacturing Execution System: output counts, cycle times, downtime events, reject rates, and quality metrics. This data gets linked to specific equipment records in Dovient, creating a unified view of production performance alongside maintenance history.
When a machine goes down, Dovient knows the production impact immediately. It calculates OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) by combining MES production data with Dovient's maintenance records. Your maintenance and production teams see the same numbers, eliminating the finger-pointing that happens when data lives in separate systems.
The integration works with Siemens Opcenter, Rockwell FactoryTalk, GE Proficy, Wonderware MES, Dassault DELMIA, and any MES with a REST API or database connector. Data sync intervals range from real-time to hourly depending on your requirements.
Integration Architecture
What Data Connects
From MES to Dovient
- Production output counts (good parts, total parts) per shift, line, or machine
- Cycle time data (actual vs. ideal) for performance tracking
- Downtime events with reason codes, start times, and durations
- Quality data (reject counts, rework counts, first-pass yield)
- Schedule adherence and changeover times
From Dovient to Your Team
- OEE calculations combining availability, performance, and quality metrics
- Downtime Pareto analysis linking maintenance root causes to production loss
- Maintenance-driven vs. operations-driven downtime breakdown
- Work order records tied to specific downtime events
- Trend reports showing maintenance impact on production KPIs over time
Supported MES Systems
Siemens Opcenter
Integration through Opcenter APIs for production and quality data
Rockwell FactoryTalk
Connect production metrics and downtime data from FactoryTalk
GE Digital Proficy
Sync production events, alarms, and efficiency data through Proficy APIs
Wonderware MES
Read production records and downtime events from AVEVA MES
Dassault DELMIA
Exchange production data through DELMIA's manufacturing operations APIs
Custom MES
Database connectors and REST APIs for any MES with accessible data
Who This Is For
- Plants that track OEE and want maintenance data and production data in one view, so both teams work from the same numbers.
- Operations managers who need to understand which maintenance issues cause the most production loss and prioritize accordingly.
- Continuous improvement teams that want data-driven evidence linking maintenance actions to production outcomes, not anecdotal reporting.
Getting Started
Connect
Provide your MES database or API connection details. Dovient's connector reads production tables or API endpoints to pull the data you choose to share.
Configure
Map MES data points to Dovient equipment records. Define which production lines and machines to include. Set up OEE calculation parameters.
Go Live
Validate production data mapping, verify OEE calculations against your existing reports, and go live. Most plants complete MES integration in under two weeks.
