How It Works
Dovient's edge connector sits on your plant network and reads data from industrial sensors: vibration, temperature, pressure, flow rate, electrical current, and more. The connector supports standard industrial protocols including MQTT, OPC-UA, Modbus TCP, and REST API endpoints.
Sensor data flows from the edge connector to Dovient's cloud platform, where it gets linked to specific equipment records. You define thresholds for each sensor type. When readings cross those thresholds, Dovient automatically creates a work order and suggests the most relevant repair procedure from your Knowledge Hub.
This closes the gap between condition monitoring and maintenance action. Instead of a technician seeing an alert on a dashboard and then searching separately for what to do, Dovient combines the alert with the "here is how to fix it" in a single workflow.

What Data Connects
From Sensors to Dovient
- Vibration data (velocity, acceleration, displacement) for rotating equipment
- Temperature readings from bearings, motors, process lines, and enclosures
- Pressure measurements from hydraulic systems, pipelines, and vessels
- Flow rate and level data for process monitoring
- Electrical current and voltage for motor health tracking
From Dovient to Your Team
- Threshold alerts with equipment context and severity classification
- Auto-generated work orders linked to the right equipment and repair procedure
- AI-suggested repair steps based on sensor pattern and failure history
- Trend charts and condition history for each monitored asset
- Equipment health scores combining sensor data with maintenance history
Condition-Based Maintenance
Most plants already have sensors installed, but the data sits in a separate monitoring system with no direct connection to maintenance workflows. A technician sees an alarm, then has to manually look up the equipment, find the right SOP, and create a work order.
Dovient closes that loop. When sensor readings cross your defined thresholds, Dovient creates the work order automatically, attaches the relevant repair procedure from the Knowledge Hub, and notifies the right technician. The response time between "something is wrong" and "here is what to do" drops from hours to minutes.
Who This Is For
- Plants with existing sensor infrastructure (vibration monitors, temperature probes, pressure transmitters) that want to close the loop between monitoring and maintenance action.
- Operations moving from time-based to condition-based maintenance that need a platform to connect sensor data with repair knowledge and work order execution.
- Reliability engineers who want equipment health scores that combine sensor trends with maintenance history, failure data, and AI-powered anomaly detection.
Getting Started
Connect
Install the Dovient edge connector on your plant network. It discovers available sensors and data sources automatically through protocol scanning.
Configure
Map sensor tags to equipment records. Set thresholds for each sensor type. Define which alerts should auto-create work orders and which should only notify.
Go Live
Validate sensor data flow, test threshold alerts, and go live. The edge connector runs continuously with automatic reconnection if network interruptions occur.
